the whirlwind
Suddenly, and without warning, I find myself caught up in a whirlwind again. I suppose I was due--after all, I'd just had a few post-holiday weeks of sedate living with lots of time spent at the gym and with my temporary housemates.
I'm going to Florida on Saturday. This was decided...on Sunday. Crazy! I'll be back on the 12th, and will head back to work on the 13th and straight into a full weekend, then on into another busy work-week and then...
But I'm so far from complaining that complaining isn't even on the mile marker sign. I am excited, and all nice n' loose, ready for some spontaneity and a bit of the old bob-weave.
And, I must admit, as much as I love Michigan year 'round, I'm ready for a few days of sunshine and warm air.

ramblings
Well, it's beyond time for another post.
Of course, I'm not sure what to post about. Ho hum. I could wax poetical about the fantastically gorgeous weather--again. I could comment on the baby deer--again. I could rejoice in my new washing machine, but that would just be painfully dull. I could reflect on what it means to be a single gal in America, but I'm not much for public, emotional baring-of-souls, and I'm not feeling the rational half of the issue just now.
What I should do is get to work. I think I'll do that--leaving y'all with the comforting (maybe) knowledge that even the Wonderspools is occasionally at a loss for appropriate commentary.
Peace out.

the ugly truth
Ok, ok. Once again, the Adventures of Wonderspools have been sadly neglected. Inspiration and opportunity have just not been lining up lately.
And, to be honest--I wondered if anyone would notice. Pathetic, but true. For all my firm declaration that I keep this blog as a writing exercise for myself, the fact remains that I really, really like knowing that people read it. [blush with shame]
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, spring is coming, snow is melting, it's Holy Week, my favorite dog at the Humane Society has been adopted and I am both happy and sad about that, I will be seeing my family soon, I have paint samples hung up all over the house, I've discovered the musical delights of pandora.com, work is busy, Gladys is draped in a half-finished cotton dress, we cut massive amounts of firewood on Saturday and my lats are still a little sore from running the chainsaw, and it was warm enough on Friday to wash my car outside. The end.

I'm not dead yet...
Poor neglected blog! Alas! But be of good cheer, friends--the blog is not dead. It merely went on vacation and is a little slow at getting started again.
Sometime soon I'll hopefully have a few pics of last week's trip out to Tacoma to visit the fam. We had great fun. Time flew. And then I got home...and have been playing catch-up (not ketchup, silly!) at work and at home. So, you see, I'm full of very good excuses for my temporary blog desertion.
Another reason for my despondency is not quite so noble...
Hi, my name is Lindsey, and I've been writing really, really bad fiction. It is very nearly a guilty pleasure, just because it is so positively irredeemable. But it's been fun. And I did say I wanted to write more, right? Baby steps to good literature...baby steps...
What's that you say? Can you read some? No! I don't even read it, it's so bad.
